The display and processing of sound signals
Write an application which will interface to the sound card such that input (particularly speech) may be captured and displayed in various ways. e.g. time, frequency, filtered etc. Standard signal processing algorithms are available for performing most of these functions but they will need to be implemented in a Windows environment.
