A reading tutor for young children

A multimedia program which can help children to read - if you look in any book shop or an Early Learning Centre you will find lots of 'help your child to read' books. These contain all sorts of different exercises e.g. matching pairs, recognising colours, recognising letters, what is the correct initial letter for this picture, which words rhyme, for helping a child to read. The purpose of this project would be to implement such exercises on the computer and make it as easy as possible for a teacher to add additional exercises in a given category. As well as a collection of exercises to assist young children to learn to read, the program may be able to analyse a student's performance and produce appropriate reports.
